Get free help on building a good link campaign. Once your website is published, other websites have to link to it, but be careful.

  • Introduction:
The importance of building a good linking campaign has to lay out more like a strategy. If you get mixed up in linking your website to link farms or get looped into bad linking practices, all of your efforts could be very well in vain.

  • Linking to directories:
All that hard work has to be guarded now, it has come time to link to other websites that are relevant to what you have spent all this time creating. By far, the best way to get started is to start with major directories. In due time after you have submitted your website to the search engines, your site should just automatically show up in a few directories such as Ask.com and others. We will name you should chase down manually to get you started, but then the hunt to get listed - will be up to you.

  • Linking to other websites:
After you have chased down the major directories, it is now time to do a little research on websites that are kind of in the same category as yours. Be sure to think this out carefully, for example: If you are a book publisher and publish books for a living, the last thing you want to link to is another book publisher, unless of course you are friends. But even at that, be sure to check the quality of their website first. The last thing you need at this stage, is to link a "diamond" to a pile of rocks. Get the point?

Moreover, you would probably want to link your publishing website to book review companies, Amazon, Supply stores and so on.

  • Pitfalls of link farms:
What ever you do, never link to websites that offer to link you to a thousand other sites in any given time frame. Having that many links hit you all at once will make them your friend but not so friendly to the search engines. Additionally, be sure to watch out for those websites that offer to sell tons of links for a low price, the risk is greater that you will suffer some penalization by the search engines. Your website links should come at a regulated pace over a long period of time to show a steady form of operation.
